Professional Point System
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
Your POINT nodes will need the following information before they can
setup PPoint.
Their point address (Zone:Network/Node{.Point}) ie: 1:249/114.7 _________
Their BOSS address (Zone:Network/Node) ie: 1:249/114 _________
Their BOSS ROUTE address (if required) (Zone:Network/Node) _________
Their Host phone number... _________
Their Point/Host session (and packet) password... _________
If you want to PRESET your PPoint users, create a text file as follows:
The filename must be AUTOPP.SET, and located in the same directory they
choose to install PPoint.
The contents will be in a format where lines starting with ; are comment
lines, and all others will only be recognized if KEYWORDS are found.
Valid KEYWORDS are: SET, NAME, ADDRESS, BOSS, ROUTE, PHONE, and PASSWORD.
For example, here is a typical setup file:
NAME Steve Martin
ADDRESS 1:400/20.4
PHONE 555-1212
PASSWORD trains
Notice the BOSS and ROUTE keywords are not used, since they will default
to 1:400/20 and 1:400/20 in this case. You can use them if required.
The SET keyword has only one use, and that is to instruct PPoint to setup
as if it will be used with PP-QWK its optional QWK access module. To use
it, you must use the keyword and a command like this: SET QWK. The Default
setup mode when no SET command is used, is for a typical FidoNet mailer
system with Binkley and Bnu (or other fossils).
If you have any questions, please netmail...
